Dazzling Dinner Auction - Red Hall Hotel on Saturday 29th October 2016
More than 100 people attended the Dazzling Dinner Auction in the Holcombe Suite at the Red Hall Hotel, Ramsbottom to raise funds for The Society.
His Worship the Mayor of Bury, Mike Connolly, David Nuttall MP, and leader of Bury Council, Rishi Shori joined Jill Logan, other members of the Board, clients, volunteers, staff and friends to bid for a wide range of items donated by organisations, business's and individuals, including meals at exclusive restaurants, tickets to football matches, beauty treatments, luxury hampers, pictures etc, which raised an amazing £3,400 on the night.
We would like to thank everyone who attended this event for their genorosity and for making the event a huge success, and obviously all the people who donated the wonderful items that made it all possible

Great Manchester 10k run
Once again Alan Norman will be donning his trainers and doing the Great Manchester Run which taked place on 22nd May. This year Alan will be accompanied by Gill Currie who does the Eye Talk sessions, and together they will be raising money for the Bury Blind Society.
If you would like to sponsor them there are sponsor forms in the Resource Centre to complete,you can call the office and pledge your donation over the phone or simply send a cheque through the post.
Wednesday Coffee & Craft Group 10am-12pm:
On 17th February are having an Easter flower arrangement demonstration. All welcome. A small charge of £2.00 for this event.
Music Charity Night:
Our own Bob Goodwin is playing his wonderful selection of music at the Victoria Hotel, Walshaw on Thursday 18th February, 7pm onwards. All welcome and there’s even a Chilli supper available for just £5.00. For every ‘special Blind Society drink’ sold, The Victoria is donating £1.00. Please do come along and support Bob. Tickets on sale for the supper from the office or at the Victoria.
‘Girls Pamper’ Evening:
Come along ladies and spoil yourselves! Friday 19th February at the Centre, 7pm onwards. Tickets are £5.00 and include a drink and raffle ticket. Nails, hand massage, and other treatments available for a small donation, as well as jewellery and pamper items on sale.
Jewel In The Crown: Tuesday 8 March, 7pm for 7.30pm
Our next meal is an Indian at the Jewel In the Crown, Bury, always a popular venue. The menu choices include poppadum as starters, selection of curries followed by ice cream or coffee. So come along and check it out. Book your place at the office; £6.00 for members and £12 for non-members.
Quiz Night: Friday 8 April
t’s that time again-get your thinking caps on and come along to Elton Liberal Club, 7pm start. This time we are in the lovely Sinatra Room, access via the Bowling Green entrance. Tickets still only £5.00 per person includes pasty and pea supper. Four to a team. Book your place now!
