Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, as we are a small local society not linked to any other larger national or regional sight loss charity, are very much reliant on donations & the income from fundraising events.

The Society has a busy schedule of activities arranged to help us meet our costs and further our work with blind and partially sighted people.

There are several ways you can make a difference to the lives of our clients:

Donations

If you or a loved one has been touched by the work that the Society does and would like to make a donation to the charity we would be very grateful. Please send a cheque made payable to Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People to the following address:

We are now working with 'Virgin Money Giving'  to create an easier way for our supporters to make either one off or regular donations.  From this site you can also create your own sponsored event, sponsor one of our staff for a challenge event they are completing ir donate your own sponsorship from a marathon, hike, sponsored baked bean bath, the skies the limit. This fantastic site also automatically collects gift aid from UK tax payers with their permission which in itself raised invaluable unretsricted funding each year.

Do you own a banger that’s merely gathering dust in the garage? Then you can do your bit for charity!

Giveacar is a UK based fundraising organisation that specialises in donating unwanted and scrap cars to charitable causes throughout the world, including Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People.

They provide a FREE service which is available throughout the UK. They can arrange the collection of the vehicle, depending on its age and condition.

Recycling to raise funds

Did you know that if you bring in your  old printer cartridges to the society we can recyle them, we also collect stamps and mobile phones and jewelleryevery penny counts and your contribution would be much appreciated.

Bric-a-Brac

We now have a 'sale' table in our new premises and plan to host car boot sales and attend fetes and now have room to collect donated bric-a-brac from our supporters - please donate and quality goods you can to the society anything at all is much appreciated.  Books, cd's, dvd's, etc

Ebay

We now have an account with Ebay - we can sell items donated that may have more value than the every day bric-a-brac donated but also supporters can now search for our name when selling their own goods and donate a percentage of the final sales to us direct.  Donations can also be made direct this way through your paypal account using your ebay account.
