How We Work
We work in a variety of ways to provide the services and activities to meet the needs of residents. This includes providing bespoke activity as well as working with a variety of organisations across Bury to ensure the inclusivity of services and activities. Ultimately ensuring the needs of the person are put first.
Our role and reputation in Bury is important to us, not just for our front-line delivery and support but also for our work as advocating and campaigning for the rights of blind and visually impaired people in Bury. We are committed to working in partnership with a range of organisations in Bury to influence change whether that is working alongside fellow voluntary groups and organisations, influencing the public sector or developing partnerships with the private sector to support our work.
We are proud of our history and legacy of supporting the residents of Bury (we formed in 1922). However, our services continue to grow and evolve for example in the past twelve months -
- Over 45000 visitors have visited our centre. Supporting an average of 90 individuals each week
- Over 460 individual client interventions following referral to our services for assessment.
- Over 6500 volunteer hours within the centre supporting a range of service and social activities.
